VIP Reception for H.E. Mr Fawzi Hariri, Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals

The Middle East Association is delighted to be hosting a Reception for the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, H.E. Mr Fawzi Hariri at Bury House on Wednesday 30 July, from 5.30-7.30 pm.
Mr Hariri has been Minister of Industry and Minerals since May 2006, after being elected in the December 2005 elections as a member of the Democratic Patriotic Alliance of Kurdistan. Hariri is actually of Assyrian origin and son of the politician Franso Hariri (1937-2001). Fawzi Hariri lived for 16 years in London where he worked for British Airways. Like his father, he is a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iraq. Mr Hariri will be accompanied by 4 Directors General from the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and this reception will be a major networking opportunity for UK business people keen to work in Iraq.
Iraq is seeking foreign investment to rehabilitate and modernise industry. H.E. Mr Hariri is very keen to involve British investors for historical reasons and because he highly values British expertise. He wishes to develop the sectors managed by the Ministry, namely: petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, construction (cement and steel), food, R&D, training and textiles.
The charge per delegate will be £25.00 (inc. VAT) for MEA Members and £35.00 (inc. VAT) for Non-members.
